It is no secret that we, at Microsoft, are investing in our software plus service vision. There is a lot happening in this space that I cannot talk about publicly, but if it is any indication, we already have many services out there that most people have not heard about. So I thought of a silly game. If you are up for a fun web scavenging hunt and willing to do a bit of searching, you will find interesting services that are mostly free and could be exactly what you were looking for. I am not even talking about some grand breaking services that will come along in the near future (like CRMLive that I spent 3 years working on).
How to play?
I have come across this list of existing Microsoft services (or service related software) that we have released in some shape or form. Use Live Search to find the homepage of the service. Read about the service and see if you are interested in it. If you are a winner, the service is what you are looking for and it is free (at least for Beta).
