I am a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft Corporation headquarters in Redmond, WA, USA. During my tenure at Microsoft, I have had the good fortune to contribute to some of our major products and services including our Cloud Computing Platform; Windows Azure (with focus on Live Framework, Live Services and CRM Online) and our Client & Server Platforms including Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Tablet PC as well as our Developer Runtime and Tooling platform; .NET Framework and Visual Studio .NET and finally, our Information Worker and Business Solution platforms and applications including Office and Dynamics CRM,…. My contribution, depending on the role, has been spread across developing deep customer and partner understanding; planning and defining vision and strategy; designing and architecting the core technology, driving our innovation managment; managing complex and interdependent schedules and priorities; leading product teams to design, build, release and service these products. I am currently working on our Cloud Computing Platform focusing on the next generation Software+Service Developer Platform called Windows Azure.
Before joining Microsoft, I worked on a number of high-tech R&D projects/products in Europe and Asia. Some of the projects that I contributed to include: First European Union project for connecting city-based Software Services across major European cities, through distributed computing and open systems; Intelligent Agent software for large scale and distributed field service scheduling; Information Worker personal assistant framework while at British Telecom company, Software system for remotely controlling and monitoring the efficiency of large wind turbine farms; software system for automatic control and signaling of urban and suburban train systems; Artificial Intelligence based software to diagnose and local fault on large scale British national power grid,… etc.
As a university lecturer, I have spent a few years designing degree programs and lecturing Information Technology courses to graduate students at some of the largest and most reputable European universities(The Open University, City University, etc). I have published conference and journal papers as well as book chapters on various topics listed below. I have also been an inventor on more than 20 patents in the US, Canada and UK, in the field of computer science and applied technology.
